About Me

I am a Registered Social Service Worker with over 10 years of experience in the healthcare field, with a strong focus on supporting children, youth, and families facing complex emotional, behavioral, and health challenges. My professional background spans hospice care, pediatric hospital units, and emergency departments, where I’ve provided crisis intervention, therapeutic support, and advocacy for vulnerable populations.

In addition to my clinical experience, I was for over 7 years a dedicated foster parent to three teenagers living with diverse mental health needs. This personal journey has deepened my understanding of trauma-informed care and reinforced my commitment to creating safe, inclusive spaces for youth to heal, grow, and thrive.

My areas of specialization include anxiety, depression, autism spectrum disorders, behavioral challenges, and youth mental health. I have developed and implemented targeted programs such as anger awareness workshops and healthy relationship curriculums for children and adolescents.

I am certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Somatic Therapeutic Modalities, and Non-Crisis Intervention. My approach is strengths-based, client-centered, and grounded in evidence-based practices tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual.

Throughout my career, I have been honored with multiple humanitarian awards and graduated with Presidential Honors. I have also devoted decades to charitable initiatives aimed at supporting marginalized and at-risk populations.

About Me

I am a dedicated Child and Youth Care professional with over seven years of experience supporting children and youth with complex emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs across educational and clinical settings. I hold an Advanced Diploma in Child and Youth Care (with distinction) and am a professional member of the Ontario Association of Child and Youth Care (OACYC).

My background includes five years as a Youth Counsellor and 1.5 years as a Behavioral Consultant within a Section 23 Day Treatment Program, where I collaborated with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized intervention plans, promote emotional regulation, and build strong therapeutic relationships with students. I also bring one year of experience as a Specialized Support Worker in a private therapeutic services agency, providing evidence-informed strategies to support children and families.

I am a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), trained in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills (ASIST), and certified in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention. My approach integrates DBT and CBT principles, emphasizing structure, empathy, and calm problem-solving in high-intensity situations.

As an experienced facilitator, I have led both group and individual sessions on topics such as emotional regulation, empathy, communication, conflict resolution, mindfulness, and anxiety management. I also incorporate creative engagement tools such as Minecraft Education and visual reinforcement systems to enhance motivation and learning.

Beyond my clinical work, I have coached both high school varsity and youth soccer teams, reflecting my belief in teamwork, leadership, and mentorship. My passion lies in empowering youth to build resilience, self-awareness, and emotional intelligence through safe, structured, and meaningful interventions.
